MICHIANA (WNDU) – Beacon Health System appears to have a new round of layoffs as it works to strengthen its financial position.
In response to WNDU’s question about layoffs, a representative sent us a statement saying, “We are taking several steps to strengthen our financial position, including organizational changes focused primarily on administrative and operational areas.”
Beacon Health said it is navigating significant financial pressures, lower reimbursement rates from insurance companies, and rising costs of providing care.

Like health systems across the country, Beacon Health System continues to navigate significant financial pressures as the cost of providing care rises faster than reimbursement from government and commercial insurance programs.
To ensure Beacon remains strong and sustainable for the communities we serve, we are taking several steps to strengthen our financial position, including organizational changes focused primarily on administrative and operational areas. These are difficult but necessary decisions that will help us protect our ability to provide outstanding care and invest in the services our communities depend on.
We recognize the very real impact these decisions have on our colleagues. Beacon is committed to supporting affected associates and, wherever possible, helping them identify other opportunities within our health system.
