BATTLE GROUND, Wash. (KATU) — Clark County Public Health is investigating two confirmed measles cases involving unvaccinated children, including a possible exposure at a Battle Ground school.
One person who tested positive for measles was at River HomeLink, 610A SW Eaton Blvd., while contagious, health officials said. The possible exposure occurred Thursday, Sept. 17, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Public Health is working with Battle Ground Public Schools to identify students and staff who are not protected against measles. Those people will be excluded from school, child care and other public settings for 21 days, officials said.

People who were at the school during the exposure window and have not been vaccinated or previously had measles could be at risk of getting sick.
Health officials advise anyone who believes they were exposed and develops measles symptoms to call their health care provider before going to a clinic or medical office. Officials urge patients to call ahead before their visit to allow providers to make plans that limit exposure to other patients and staff.
People who have received two doses of the measles vaccine are well protected, according to Clark County Public Health. The agency said two doses are about 97% effective at preventing the disease.
Clark County has recorded 21 measles cases so far this year. Nineteen of those cases involved people who were unvaccinated, while the vaccination status of two people was unknown.
