(NewsNation) — Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos founder convicted of defrauding investors out of hundreds of millions of dollars, is scheduled to move from federal prison to a halfway house next year, according to a Department of Justice notification obtained by ABC.
Holmes is set to be placed at the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle, Texas, on Aug. 23, 2027, the notification says.

She’s currently serving an 11-year sentence at a federal prison camp in Bryan, Texas, after her 2022 conviction on charges tied to Theranos, a blood-testing startup she founded that collapsed after investigators found its technology didn’t work as claimed.
A victim of Holmes’ fraud told NewsNation’s Katie Pavlich they hadn’t heard the news, saying Holmes “shouldn’t be allowed” to leave early.

Holmes’ case is also getting Hollywood treatment. A trailer dropped this month for Nathan Fielder’s new documentary, “You Can See Everything,” which follows her in the days before she reported to prison for the Theranos fraud.

In the latest trailer, Fielder asks Holmes if she feels she did anything wrong. “I did not,” she says. The Theranos founder is also shown shedding a single tear, which a body language expert dubbed as false to NewsNation.
“”Psychopaths can do that,” body language expert and behavior analyst Scott Rouse told NewsNation’s Jesse Weber. “That’s not tough.”
The three-hour documentary, produced by A24, hits theaters Oct. 16.
