Fever vs. Lynx: The matchup

Despite a 96-77 loss to the Fever in Indiana on Tuesday, the Lynx still managed to clinch the No. 1 seed for the upcoming WNBA Playoffs with a loss by the Golden State Valkyries. Minnesota enters Thursday’s matchup with a 32-11 record, but with losses in three of its past four games and perhaps a need to regain momentum before the postseason. Clark hit 9-of-18 shots and finished Tuesday’s head-to-head matchup with 27 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and four steals, while teammate Kelsey Mitchell added 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting.

The Lynx could opt to rest starters in their regular-season finale after standout guard Olivia Miles sat Tuesday’s contest with a left calf injury. But the Fever do still have a shot to solidify or improve their standing in the WNBA Playoffs race, sitting a game behind the Atlanta Dream, who currently own the No. 4 seed, and a game ahead of the No. 6 Washington Mystics. Atlanta’s No. 4 seed remains in play, and it’s a crucial one as the last of four seeds to secure home-court advantage in the first round of the postseason.
