Abuja, 16 September 2026 — Stakeholders from Nigeria’s education, labour, employment and youth development sectors have concluded a three-day validation process for the National Framework for Career Guidance and Counselling (CGC) in Nigeria, held from 14 to 16 September at the United Nations House in Abuja.
UNESCO and GIZ, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Youth Development and Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, organized the workshop, which brought together government institutions, development partners, employers, professional bodies, education and training institutions, practitioners and other stakeholders.
The validation marks an important milestone in efforts to establish a coordinated national approach to career guidance and counselling. The process has included consultations, a national desk review, stakeholder engagements, technical workshops and policy dialogue.
