‘Avoid the area’: Water main break causes extended closure on Route 30 in Franklin County
CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. —
A stretch of Route 30 is closed due to a water main break in Franklin County, according to the Chambersburg Police Department.

Crews were called to the break early Tuesday morning in the 1,000 block of Lincoln Way East/Route 30 in Chambersburg Borough.
According to police, Lincoln Way East/Route 30 is closed in both directions between Stouffer and Coldbrook avenues. This is just west of Interstate 81.
The department is asking drivers to avoid the area if possible.
Tractor-trailers and trucks are advised to utilize Wayne Avenue as an alternate route of travel to Interstate 81.
Drivers are reminded to be alert and use caution until repairs are made.
