BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Our Tia Trudgeon sat down with writer-director Parker Croft to discuss his upcoming horror film “Bearing the Dead,” which begins production this October.
The film draws largely on Vermont’s local filmmaking talent alongside recognizable names including Abigail Breslin, Rosario Dawson, and co-writer Nolan Gould.
The story was born from an idea by cinematographer Zachary Sandberg about a death investigator who discovers a body gasping for air during transport.
Croft said the production hopes to complete the film in time for a first-quarter 2027 premiere, with plans for a Vermont screening.
