The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office identified the woman struck and killed by a vehicle outside the Faulkner Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, on Thursday.

Officials said Patricia McGrath, 68, of Dorchester, was sitting on a bench outside the Belkin House building around 10:45 a.m. when she was hit by an SUV.

McGrath later succumbed to her injuries. Two people inside the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

The district attorney’s office said no criminal charges have been filed and the incident remains under investigation.

“The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a deliberate act,” Boston Police Department Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said. “This was, in fact, a very tragic situation, very unfortunate situation that happened here.”

The SUV also struck a gas line outside the hospital, and several people inside the Belkin House were evacuated as National Grid crews made repairs.

The Belkin House facility was closed on both Thursday and Friday.
