Padraig Harrington is currently tied-36th on six-under after carding a five-under par round of 67 in his second round in Kingsbarns at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

Having opened with a fine 71 at Carnoustie – the site of his famous 2007 Open Championship triumph – Harrington rolled in a total of seven birdies with just two dropped strokes at the modern links at Kingsbarns, which lies just six miles south of the Old Course.

The 55-year old Dubliner is a two-time winner of the event, having won it in 2002 and 2006, the latter title coming en route to his sole Order of Merit title on the European Tour.

In a congested field, Harrington lies five strokes adrift of the leader, Casey Jarvis of South Africa, who birdied the 18th late in the day to reach 11-under par, one stroke clear of a trio of players, including his compatriot MJ Daffue, as well as Matthew Jordan of England and Rocco Repetto Taylor of Spain.

Another quartet of players sit two off the lead at nine under par, the most prominent being Niklas Norgaard of Norway.
