Valve just released SteamVR Beta version 2.18.2 – and with it, another healthy dose of bug fixes.
That’s on top of the Steam Client Beta with lots of Pyrowave improvements for Remote Play, and also SteamOS 0.4.3 (Beta) for Steam Frame bringing improved power efficiency and battery life.
All the changes are below:
Key Features
Streaming:
Further VR streaming reliability improvements, including additional fixes for “Error 17”. Note: Steam Frame users should also opt into SteamOS 0.4.3 or higher reduce “error 17” connection issues. At time of this release, SteamOS 0.4.3 is available on the OS Beta branch.
Expose eye openness information when streaming from Steam Frame, via OSC. (This requires Steam OS 0.4.3, or higher). In an upcoming release, eye openness will also be available via the OpenVR SDK.
(11:00 PM UTC time) Hotfix to resolve green/black screen issues with SteamLink on Linux.
SteamVR:
Fixed an issue where the dashboard would recenter unnecessarily for some users.
Fixed Throttling Behavior setting selection in per-application Video Settings.
Fixed an issue that prevented controller bindings from loading for certain games, including Google Earth VR and Thumper.
Improved focus behavior when interacting with grab/resize handles.
Nice to see so many updates lately. This is why Valve continue to get my money, because their developers are constantly working on the things that matter and improving the store.
