LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB+WAVE) — The head of Kentucky Castle’s parent company has been removed as CEO after being the subject of a sealed lawsuit.
According to a statement posted Saturday by The Kentucky Castle, Wes Henderson’s employment as CEO of TKC Distilling, the parent company of The Kentucky Castle and True Story Whiskey, has been terminated effective immediately following allegations in a recently filed lawsuit.
Details about the allegations in the sealed lawsuit have not been released at this time.
Henderson also served as the Oldham County deputy coroner, but has stepped down following the lawsuit.
Oldham County Coroner David Pendleton provided the following statement:
“Since these are allegations only before I could issue a notice of suspension, Deputy Henderson stepped away from his position with the Coroner’s office, taking an unpaid leave of absence until further notice.”
According to Versailles Police Chief Rob Young, an official investigation has not been opened against Henderson as they are “working to determine who the law-enforcement agency is that is reportedly involved.”
Oldham County Police confirmed that they are not involved in the incident at this time.
WDRB+WAVE has also reached out to Henderson’s legal team for comment.
Henderson first made his name in the bourbon industry as the founder of Angel’s Envy, which he sold to Bacardi in 2015 for $150 million.
Henderson’s son, Kyle Henderson, will assume the role of CEO of TKC Distilling.
