Cartes has entered into a collaboration with Hans Huijsing, who will serve as strategic consultant as the label finishing and embellishment equipment manufacturer expands its presence in selected international markets.

Huijsing will focus particularly on developing opportunities in Benelux and Northern Europe while supporting Cartes’ relationships with customers and partners globally. He brings international printing and packaging industry experience that includes roles with Konica Minolta and Xerox.

The appointment is part of Cartes’ strategy to expand the market for its high-value label converting and embellishment technologies. The company’s portfolio includes hot stamping, screen printing, digital embellishment, flexo varnishing, embossing, conventional diecutting and laser diecutting.

Cartes has also continued to develop technologies including its patented Invisible Laser Cutting (ILC) system and Jet D-Screen digital embellishment platform, which produces tactile and visual effects for premium label applications.

“Hans brings valuable international experience and a strong understanding of the printing industry, which will further strengthen our ability to support our customers and develop new opportunities in markets where high-value embellishment has significant potential,” says Virgilio Micale, sales director at Cartes.

Huijsing says Cartes’ technology portfolio provides opportunities as brands increasingly seek differentiation and premium label solutions.

“Cartes has an exceptional technology portfolio and a clear ability to translate innovation into real value for label converters. Its approach to embellishment, together with its longstanding commitment to R&D, makes the company particularly well positioned for markets where brands increasingly look for differentiation and premium label solutions,” comments Huijsing. “I look forward to contributing my international experience and working with the Cartes team and its customers to develop further opportunities.”

Headquartered in Moglia, Italy, Cartes was founded in 1970 and reports more than 4,300 machines installed across 100 countries.
