The stabbing occurred in the area of Broad and Public streets around 1:30 p.m.
Both mother and daughter were transported to an area hospital and their conditions are unknown at this time.
It’s unclear if Blanco knew either of the victims at the time of the stabbing.
“We’re going to do what we have to do to make sure that the person who did this violent crime is held accountable,” said Providence Police Chief Col. Oscar Perez.
Sky 5 flew over the scene where yellow police tape had blocked off the roadway.
“That’s an incident that should have never happened,” said Jorge Lopez, who witnessed the aftermath. “It’s sad, nobody should be scared to be walking around with their kids, especially on Broad Street… but it’s sad.”
No further information was immediately available.
