Haliburton notched seven points and six assists at Hilton Coliseum in his first game since missing last season with injury.

Tyrese Haliburton was welcomed back to Hilton Coliseum with a thunderous roar from the Iowa State student section. In the first NBA preseason game at Iowa State’s basketball arena since 2018, Haliburton’s Pacers defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 123-112 Wednesday.

The crowd of nearly 14,000 got treated early with a three-pointer by Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards to open the game and a pull-up jumper by Haliburton on the ensuing Pacers’ possession.

Haliburton played 16 minutes with seven points, six assists and two blocks. He sat out in the second half. It was Haliburton’s first game action since getting injured in game seven of the NBA Finals in June of 2025.
