Lois Lowry has written dozens of books for kids and young adults. There’s the historical fiction novel Number the Stars about the Holocaust, the Anastasia Krupnik series and, of course, The Giver. That book launched a quartet, which wrapped in 2012. Lowry hadn’t written another book set in a future dystopia – until now. In today’s episode, NPR’s Andrew Limbong speaks with Lowry about her new book Building 903, intergenerational relationships and the books that shaped her childhood.
