Best WNBA Bets Today: Friday, October 9
Breanna Stewart Under 23.5 Points (-112) vs. Atlanta Dream
DraftKings Sportsbook, 3:10 p.m. ET
Steve Bulanda: After scoring 35 points Wednesday, the over is probably going to be a popular pick. We’re not looking for popular picks. We’re looking for sharp bets, and the ProBets tool has highlighted the under as the side to be on tonight with significant real money staked. The stats back it up. Stewart has averaged two fewer points at home than on the road this season. More recently, she’s averaged just 17.7 points at home compared to 23.9 on the road over her last 15 appearances. We see it all the time in the NBA too, as role players perform better at home, while the stars typically have to carry the team on the road. RotoWire’s projection model has Stewart finishing with about 19 points.
Las Vegas Aces -3.5 (-118) vs. Golden State Valkyries
DraftKings Sportsbook, 3:10 p.m. ET
Steve Bulanda: Golden State continues its unlikely playoff run in just its second year of existence. Betting against the Valkyries has already burned me a few times this year, but I don’t see the Aces going down without a fight. Las Vegas has just been too good at home in the playoffs, going 22-3 since 2022. Additionally, they don’t just win, they dominate. The Aces have won all six of their most recent playoff home games by an average margin of 12.5 points per game. They swept the Valkyries in the regular season, and with the momentum of the home crowd, I project a decisive win that makes this series interesting.
