Mikel Arteta has made five changes for tonight’s Champions League league-phase game against Lille, with Viktor Gyokeres and Mikel Merino among the incoming players.
The duo enjoyed goalscoring exploits during the recent international break, and will hope to bring that form into European action tonight at Emirates Stadium.
Having netted the winner off the bench in our 2-1 win against Leeds United on Saturday, Bruno Guimaraes is rewarded with a first Arsenal home start, while Jurrien Timber replaces Ben White at right-back.
Eberechi Eze also comes into the XI, while Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, Riccardo Calafiori and Martin Odegaard drop to the bench, with Declan Rice assuming captaincy duties.
The replacements include two new faces in midfielder Maalik Hashi and Northern Ireland international forward Ceadach O’Neill.
Lille meanwhile have also made five changes to their side, with former Gunner Olivier Giroud starting from the bench, with Japanese summer signing Ayase Ueda returning to spearhead the attack.
Right-back Tiago Santos, who has scored twice in five starts this season, was stretched off with a serious ACL injury on the weekend, and his spot has been taken by 18-year-old Maxima Goffi.
Meanwhile, Nathan Ngoy is back in the heart of the defence, Benjamin Andre comes into midfield and Hakon Arnar Haraldsson is introduced to the attack, with Tanguy Nianzou, Maurits Kjaergaard and Gaetan Perrin benched.
