AND TURNING TO OUR LOCAL HEADLINES, WE’RE TRACKING A DEVELOPING STORY IN BURLINGTON, WHERE POLICE SAY TWO PEOPLE ARE IN THE HOSPITAL AFTER THEY WERE SHOT EARLY THIS MORNING. OFFICERS SAY THEY RESPONDED TO A CALL ON LUNSFORD DRIVE AROUND 12:30 A.M. WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY FOUND THE VICTIMS. AUTHORITIES TELL US THEIR INJURIES ARE NOT LIFE THREATENING. THERE’S NO WORD YET ON A SUSPECT. WE’LL BE KEEPING YOU UPDATED ON AIR AND ONLINE AS WE LEARN MORE. NOW TO RANDOLPH COUNTY, WHERE A FORMER TEACHER IS WAKING UP IN JAIL THIS MORNING CHARGED WITH MULTIPLE CHILD SEX CRIMES. THE INVICTUS TASK FORCE ARRESTED WILLIAM VILLANO YESTERDAY. HE’S CHARGED WITH TWO COUNTS OF INDECENT LIBERTIES WITH A STUDENT AND SEX ACTS WITH A STUDENT. THE DISTRICT SAYS HIS LAST DAY ON THE JOB WAS NOVEMBER 26TH OF LAST YEAR. HE’S SET TO FACE A JUDGE ON MONDAY. RIGHT NOW IN WINSTON-SALEM, POLICE SAY THE 1700 BLOCK OF POLO ROAD IS CLOSED BETWEEN RANSOM ROAD AND WAKE DRIVE AFTER A CRASH CAUSED DAMAGE TO MULTIPLE UTILITY POLES. THE STREET IS ALSO CLOSED OFF FROM ANY TRAFFIC COMING FROM OWEN DRIVE. IT’S NOT CLEAR YET IF ANYONE IS HURT AND THERE’S NO TIME FRAME ON WHEN THE ROAD WILL REOPEN. DRIVERS ARE ASKED TO AVOID THIS AREA IN THE MEANTIME. TODAY, DRIVERS WILL RETURN TO THE TRACK AT BOWMAN GRAY STADIUM ONE WEEK AFTER THE DEATH OF ROBBIE BREWER. AS OUR BETHANY KATZ REPORT. HIS FELLOW RACERS ARE DOING EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO PAY TRIBUTE TO THE NUMBER 68. I JUST THINK THIS IS HOW PEOPLE REMEMBER ROBBIE. BLACK AND GREEN SKULLS. 68 SPORTSMAN. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ANOTHER NIGHT OF ROARING ENGINES, BRIGHT LIGHTS AND A CROWD OF CHEERING FANS FOR LOCAL RACE CAR DRIVER ROBBIE BREWER. BUT INSTEAD, SATURDAY WILL BE A NIGHT DEDICATED IN HIS MEMORY. YEAH, I 68 THIS WEEK. THIS IS ONE OF HIS OLD WRAPS UP. IDENTICAL. BRADLEY MCCASKILL STILL HAD THE FILE. CHASE LEWIS IS ONE OF BREWERS RACING BUDDIES. AND HE SAYS, WHEN YOU THINK OF ROBBIE, YOU THINK OF 68. SO HE’S RIDING HIS NUMBER FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON. THIS IS HOW I KNOW TO HONOR. GOING AND. DRIVING THE ABSOLUTE WHEELS OFF THIS THING. GOOD, BAD, UGLY WRECK, WHATEVER IT MAY BE. THAT IS THE ROBBIE I KNOW. THAT’S HOW I. AND IT SOUNDS SILLY, BUT THAT’S HOW WE COPE WITH IT. AND FOR OTHER DRIVERS LIKE RILEY NEAL. HE SAYS, PLACING 68 ON THE ROOF OF HIS CAR IS CRUCIAL BECAUSE THE TRACK IS MORE THAN JUST GROUNDS FOR RACING. WHEN EVERYBODY SIGNS THEIR NAME ON THAT PAPER, THEY SIGN IN TO THEIR FAMILY FOR THE NIGHT. HE WAS ALWAYS SOMEBODY YOU COULD COUNT ON AND HAVE IN YOUR CORNER TO, TO, TO BE ABLE TO GO ASK PARTS FOR AND AND JUST ANYTHING AT THE RACETRACK. BREWER’S LEGACY GOES FAR BEYOND THE TRACK, LEAVING HIS MARK ON A LOCAL BUSINESS WHO SAYS THEY ARE NAMING A DRINK IN HIS HONOR. THE OWNER OF S&P LEMONADE TELLS US THAT BEFORE THE RACE BEGAN, HE TOOK A SIP OF HIS FIANCEE’S CUCUMBER LEMONADE. SHE HELD IT UP TO ROBBIE AND SAID, HEY, DO YOU WANT SOME LEMONADE BEFORE YOU GO OUT? HE NODDED YES, AND SHE STUCK THE LEMONADE IN THERE. AND THE LAST THING THAT HE DRANK BEFORE HE WENT OUT ON THE TRACK AND LOST HIS LIFE, WAS OUR CUCUMBER LEMONADE. AND FROM NOW ON, THE CUCUMBER LEMONADE WILL TAKE ON A NEW NAME. AND THERE’S THE SAYING THAT RACERS WILL RACE, BUT THEY NEVER EXPECT TO LOSE ONE OF THEIR OWN. WE’RE GOING TO REBRAND THAT FLAVOR AS ROBBIE’S CHECKERED CHILL, AND WE CHOSE THAT BECAUSE HE FINISHED HIS RACE. THAT WAS BETHANY KATZ REPORTING. S&P LEMONADE SAYS ALL PROCEEDS ARE GOING TO VICTORY JUNCTION, A CAMP IN RANDOLPH COUNTY FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS. OUR SPORTS REPORTER, SHANELLE PORTER, MET WITH BREWER’S FELLOW DRIVERS AND CLOSE FRIENDS. THEY SHARED THEIR MEMORIES OF THE MAN REMEMBERED NOT ONLY AS A GREAT RACE CAR DRIVER, BUT ALSO AS A GREAT FRIEND. YOU CAN FIND THAT STORY
