GERMANTOWN, Tenn. – Germantown is getting a pack.
Nine bronze wolf sculptures will soon take up residence across the city as part of Discover Germantown, a community scavenger hunt that sends residents and visitors out to explore the city and its public art.
Before the wolves go on the loose, the city is offering to take attendees behind-the-scenes of the molding process and give a sneak peek of the wolves.
The Discovery Germantown Metal Art Kickoff runs from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at Municipal Park, 1900 South Germantown Road.
The Metal Museum’s mobile foundry will bring the original molds, sculpting tools, and other artifacts used to turn clay into creatures.
Attendees will get a chance to experience master artisans casting molten metal on-site and watch live foundry pours while enjoying a warm cup of coffee from Monkeygrass Mayhem.
Hands-on registration has reached capacity, but a waitlist is available in case spots open up. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee participation. To join the waitlist, visit Germantown-TN.gov/Metal.
Spectators, however, get a free pass. No registration is needed.
