Quanecia FraserOMAHA, Neb. —

She lost her baby boy, and now she’s making sure his legacy lives on through a newly published book.

Stephanie Stanley will have a book signing for “Angels on the Purple Floor” at the Wandering Page in Blackstone from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17.

Grant Stanley was born with congenital heart disease.

“For how many pokes and prods, and doctor’s appointments, he could have been the grumpiest little boy, but he wasn’t,” Stephanie Stanley told KETV.

Grant, who was born as a twin, died nearly a year ago — shortly before his first birthday.

His parents spent a lot of their time on the second floor at Children’s Nebraska in Omaha.

“All the walls are purple. When you walk in — elevator, everything is purple,” Stephanie said.

That inspired the title of her memoir. Stephanie describes the employees at Children’s Hospital as those angels, even having two nurses named “Angel.”

“I know that God was with me. I know that he sent Angels to help us through it,” she said.

She hopes to help other parents who have lost a child.

“I want people to know that there’s still hope even after your baby dies,” Stephanie said. “I want people to know my boy Grant and how much he’s changed my life.”
