If the Colts are looking for cornerstones in their potential rebuild, Nelson could certainly be one of them. The eight-time Pro Bowler brings consistently elite play to a group that could use it, but at 30 years old, now might be the time to part with the former first-round pick.

As of now, de facto interim GM Ed Dodds hasn’t intimated he’s willing to move on from Nelson. That could change with the right offer, though.

As Nelson sees it, he’ll continue focusing on delivering the same All-Pro caliber play that has made him a household name.

“Every single day, I give my absolute best,” Nelson said. “I have no regrets about the work I put in, and therefore the performances I’ve given this year. Because I literally give everything. That way, on Sunday, whether I play good or I play bad, there are no regrets. I gave everything I had.”

We’ll see if that’s enough to keep him in Indianapolis.

Nelson and the Colts (2-4) play at Minnesota (5-0) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
