Help is on the way for the Seattle Seahawks’ offensive line.
After right guard Anthony Bradford was designated to return on Monday, the Seahawks activated him off injured reserve ahead of the team’s Week 7 prime-time clash against the Kansas City Chiefs. Wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr, one of the stars and feel-good stories from HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’ series, was waived in a corresponding move. Foster had been a healthy scratch since Week 2 and his only snaps in Week 1 were on special teams.
The fourth-year guard has been out since shortly after Seattle’s Week 1 win over the New England Patriots, missing practice ahead of the Week 2 win over the Cardinals with knee and hip injuries. Ultimately, he was downgraded to out and then placed on injured reserve — but with head coach Mike Macdonald stating at the time his I.R. stint would be on the “shorter side.”
Similarly, Bradford’s return to practice this week included further optimism from Macdonald, who said, “Normally I’m pretty coy on this one, but it’s pretty straightforward. If he has a good week, he’s gonna play a significant amount or the whole game.”
Sure enough, Bradford will now be back in the lineup against the undefeated Chiefs after practicing all week and having no injury designation. Regardless of Sunday’s opponent, his return will give a much-needed boost to an offensive line that has struggled to protect Sam Darnold in 2026. Through six games, Seattle has allowed 16 sacks while Darnold has faced a league-high pressure rate of 34.5%.
Bradford, a fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in the 2023 NFL Draft, started all 17 games last season after making 21 starts across his first two years in Seattle.
