SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WSBT) — A South Bend rapper is getting a major opportunity to share his music with a global audience through one of the world’s most popular basketball video game franchises.
Heyzeus, a local rapper, has an original, previously unreleased song featured in Season 2 of NBA 2K, the popular basketball video game series from 2K Games.
The upcoming season features Indiana basketball stars Tyrese Haliburton and Caitlin Clark, with a fall theme celebrating the sport’s popularity in Indiana.
The collaboration is especially meaningful because NBA 2K does not typically feature smaller independent artists. The game’s promotional trailers are also shared by the NBA and can reach at least one million views across platforms.
Season 2 launches October 16. To celebrate the release, Heyzeus plans to host a concert and celebration event on October 24.
The opportunity gives the South Bend artist a chance to bring his unreleased music to a much larger audience while representing the local music scene on a major platform.
