Family and friends are remembering a Florida dad who drowned while trying to help a bird that got caught in his fishing line.
La Dolce Vita — which advertises itself as a premier beach service, bicycle, golf cart, and pontoon boat rental company — said in a post on Facebook that William “Stone” Romberg, 31, died following the incident.
“His kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him, and he will be deeply missed,” the post said about Romberg, who was an employee of the rental company.

TMZ reported that the father of two swam out to help a seagull he hooked while fishing at Panama City Beach on Sunday. The outlet said Romberg attempted to swim back to shore and was dragged out to sea by a heavy current.
A GoFundMe page created by his family has since raised almost $200,000.
“Our hearts are especially with his wife, Taylor, and their two little girls, Hadley and Lainey, during this unimaginable time. We hope our community can come together to support them and help ease the financial burden ahead,” La Dolce Vita said in the post.
