(WJAR) — Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha on Thursday announced two proposals to change the state’s health care system.
He would like to restructure the state agencies that oversee health care and create a state-run public health insurance option through HealthSource RI.
He says that would give more Rhode Islanders access to insurance.
Neronha said the proposals are aimed at providing long-term stability for the state’s health care system.
Details were posted on the attorney general’s website.
Neronha is term-limited and can’t run for reelection this year.
