The Arizona Diamondbacks have selected the contract of right-handed pitcher Nabil Crismatt from Triple-A Reno who will start Sunday’s game against the Colorado Rockies, the team announced.

The Diamondbacks optioned pitcher Casey Kelly to Reno in a corresponding move following Saturday night’s game.

The news comes as the Diamondbacks had an open spot in the rotation after placing righty Anthony DeSclafani on the 15-day injured list on Wednesday with right thumb inflammation.

Crismatt has largely been a reliever since making his MLB debut in 2020. He has spent time in and out of the majors with the St. Louis Cardinals (2020), San Diego Padres (2021-23), D-backs (2023) and Los Angles Dodgers (2024).

In 114 games pitched, Crismatt has posted a 9-6 record with a 3.71 ERA, 162 strikeouts and 1.30 WHIP.

The D-backs wrap up their four-game series at Coors Field against the Rockies on Sunday as the Diamondbacks look to salvage a series split after losing their last two games.

First pitch is at 12:10 p.m. MST and can be listened to on 98.7 and the Arizona Sports app.
