White, 48, is in Year 1 of leading the Indiana Fever franchise. She was previously the head coach of the Connecticut Sun, whom she led from 2023-24. Previously, White was the head coach of the Indiana Fever from 2015-16, after serving as an assistant coach for four seasons.
The Fever have been up and down this season. Indiana is 18-16 on the season, having to play without star point guard Caitlin Clark for weeks due to an injury. But White’s recent in-game coaching decisions have left fans worried.

The Indiana Fever have lost four of their past five games. Even though they are playing without Caitlin Clark, fans are frustrated by White’s rotation patterns, late-game playcalls and more.

The Fever have lost two close games in a row, falling to the Mystics, 88-84, and the Wings, 81-80, in recent days.
Some Indiana Fever fans are “done” with her.
Indiana Fever fans say they’re “done”
While coaching a team without its best player is not easy, many Fever fans have taken to social media to boast that they’re “done” with White as the head coach, barring a surprising turnaround.
“People are gonna jump me but Stephanie White isn’t the coach to lead this Fever to a championship,” one fan wrote.

“I’m officially done with the Fever! Stephanie White is a horrible coach with the Fever. I was rooting for this team even throughout injuries, but one thing is clear they lost heart ! I’ll be back when CC returns if that’s in 2 weeks or next season,” one fan added.
“The suns are one of the worst teams in the league, but the mighty Stephanie White makes them look like prime Lakers. Insane coaching malpractice coming from Steph White. As usual the hardest working player Lexie Hull gets the brunt of Steph White nonsense,” one fan added.
White’s latest comments on Caitlin Clark aren’t encouraging, either
Clark, who has been out with a leg injury, doesn’t appear to be too close to returning to game action. Fever head coach Stephanie White’s latest comment on Clark is not encouraging.

Fans are worried.
“Not the answer we want to hear. Not exactly confidence building,” one fan wrote.
“I want her healthy as a fan, I’m also realistic enough to say if there is not enough time to practice, play with team before playoffs they need to shut her down,” one fan added.
“The team and league can’t get her back soon enough,” one fan added.
The Fever are currently taking on the Connecticut Sun on Sunday afternoon, with the game airing on NBA TV.
