The votes were tallied on Thursday afternoon. Washington County voters were tasked with deciding whether to pass the bond for the $55 million expansion of the existing career center.

Article one passed 9,738 to 6,609.

Article two passed 10,153 to 6,102.

The bond, which is a revised version of a project rejected by voters last year, will use existing campuses to house programs in health sciences, arts, business, and hospitality.

Officials said applications to the career center have increased by 230% over the past five years, and the new bond would allow the center to serve more students.
