Larrikin House has acquired world rights to The Fast Lane, a picture book written by Pip Harry and illustrated by Katrin Dreiling.
According to the publisher, The Fast Lane is ‘charming, funny picture book for kids with a competitive side’.
Harry said, ‘The Fast Lane captures my 40 years as a passionate (and fairly speedy!) pool swimmer through the story of Daisy. She’s a fierce and uncompromising fast-lane swimmer, who is frustrated when slow-stroking and unserious Frank, the frog, blocks her lane. It has themes of sport, acceptance, inclusiveness and what happens when your competitive side prevents you from having fun and making friends.’
The publisher said, ‘Pip Harry is a wonderful writer and has captured the conflict of being a high-achiever and having fun, in our beautiful protagonist Daisy – a fast swimming piggy!’
Larrikin House plans to publish The Fast Lane in April 2026.
