Spectrum News is launching Spectrum News Alabama today, with a focus on four cities around the state.

Spectrum News Alabama is available around-the-clock to Spectrum TV customers on Channel 1.

It offers a schedule of local headlines every 15 minutes, and weather forecasts every 10 minutes on the 1s.

The network is also available to Spectrum customers via the Spectrum News App on mobile, Xumo Stream Box, Roku and Apple TV.

According to a news release, the channel will focus on Auburn, Birmingham, Decatur and Montgomery with reporters covering news throughout the state.

Jasmine Redus, formerly with WHNT-19 in Huntsville, is executive producer for the network. Alabama native and former WVTM-13 reporter Xavier Harris, an Alabama native, will report on the Birmingham metro area.

Spectrum News was formed in 2016 when Time Warner Cable was acquired by Charter Communications. It averages 1.8 million daily viewing households across its linear and digital platforms.

It has also launched streaming Spectrum News+, the Spanish language Spectrum Noticias, and a mobile news app. There also other Spectrum News outlets throughout the U.S.
