UPDATE: Austin Police say all three rivers in the city are up after Sunday night’s heavy rainfall. 

Austin Police Chief David McKichan wrote on Facebook that the city monitors the Turtle Creek, Cedar River, and Dobbins Creek. 

“The 3 rivers are in their lower flood stages,” McKichan wrote in the post.   

According to McKichan… 

The Cedar at the Lansing gauge is at 18 feet. It hit 19.84 last June.The Turtle is at 10 feet. It hit 12.64 last June.Dobbins is at 11 feet. It hit 17.56 last June.

AUSTIN, Minn. — Austin Police are asking the public to stay home due to flooding caused by storms on Sunday night. 

On Facebook, APD shared a photo of flooding on Main St./11th Ave. NW, and said the city received over 4 inches of rain in an hour. 

“Multiple streets look like this. Including downtown. STAY HOME. The water will hopefully recede soon…hopefully,” the department wrote in the post.
