Photos by Phillip Pessar show the Miami-Dade Cultural Center Plaza in Downtown Miami earlier this week.
The plaza was completed in 1983 and has nearly an acre of tiled area, according to the Herald.
It was designed by famed architect Phillip Johnson, who was selected for the project in 1972.
Johnson was said to have been inspired by Italian architecture and Vizcaya for the design of the Cultural Center.
Miami-Dade now offers the space for event rentals, and is considering a redevelopment plan that could see it demolished altogether.
