Report: NASCAR race at Watkins Glen moving to May in 2026

It appears the NASCAR race at Watkins Glen International will once again be moved to a new date.

The New York Times has reported that the race at The Glen will be moved from its traditional August date to Mother’s Day weekend in May of 2026.

The 2025 race at WGI was held on the weekend of Aug. 10, but in 2024 it was held in the NASCAR playoffs in September.

According to the New York Times, the 2026 race at Watkins Glen International will be held on Sunday, May 10th.

NASCAR has not officially announced its full schedule for next season.
