Bryan-College Station economy rakes in $30M+ in tourism spending during summer 2025

  • August 20, 2025

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – The summer of 2025 brought millions of tourism dollars to Bryan-College Station.

Between Games of Texas and other sporting events, thousands of people made their way to the Brazos Valley. Now that it’s all wrapped up, experts say the economic impact radiates through our community.

According to Destination Bryan, Legends Event Center generated $15.9 million in economic impact for the city of Bryan from May to August. It’s a total calculated to include direct, indirect, and induced economic activity from visitors, much of which helps generate hotel occupancy taxes and sales taxes.

Destination Bryan kicked off the summer with the Adidas basketball tournaments, followed by the NXT Pro Championship, Games of Texas, the Texas Gun Show, and much more.

This summer’s economic impact marks the strongest season yet for Legends Event Center, according to Destination Bryan. It surpassed $9.4 million in summer 2024 and $7.4 million in 2023.

Summer economic impact radiates in Bryan-College Station, surpassing previous years.

Lina Adams with Destination Bryan told KBTX, “Some of these events were so large that they had to branch out either to our Bryan ISD schools or even College Station and some of Veterans Park, and so it was really awesome to get to really collaborate within the community to improve both cities, which was awesome.”

The money generated through associated sales taxes will fund city works like our police and fire departments.

According to Visit College Station, these summer sporting events generated more than $14.4 million in economic impact for the City of College Station, with The Games of Texas alone expected to help generate $6 million.

“We’re always working together because we really are one large community, and we know that what’s good for one community tends to be good for the other,” Adams added.

Legends Event Center has two upcoming tournaments expected to generate more than $1.5 million in economic impact in the coming weeks.

Destination Bryan says visitors to our community spent $184 million in 2024. Both cities said they were excited about growing that impact in 2025 as they work to attract more visitors to the area.
