PEORIA (25News Now) – Peoria Police Chief Eric Echevarria said a boy is in custody and a weapon recovered after shots were fired near Manual High School, damaging the building.
Police said a four-round ShotSpotter alert was received in the 2400 block of West Wiswall – about a half a block away from the school.
Echevarria said officers were already in the area in unmarked vehicles.
No one was hit or injured.
Police are searching for the suspect or suspects.
This is the second incident near Manual High School in as many days. A shooting Wednesday near the school left a 15-year-old female student with a graze wound.
