TRADITION, Fla. (CBS12) — Tradition got a giant dose of love Saturday as Mattamy Homes unveiled ‘Heart in the Park,’ the tallest heart sculpture in the world.

At 73 feet tall, the reflective monument soars over the intersection of Village Parkway and Discovery Way.

Filipino-American artist JEFRË designed the monument which symbolizes a landmark of love and civic identity.

“Heart in the Park” is becoming a cherished landmark in Port St. Lucie. This artwork will bring our community closer, reflecting a message of love and inclusivity,” said Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin.

The newly opened 71,000-square-foot Shoppes at the Heart sits next to the sculpture and plaza, with additional shopping and dining options.

The grand opening ceremony saw crowds with highlights including a meet and greet with JEFRË, giveaways, and music.

Heart in the Park serves as the first of several planned community experiences. Future additions include Stars and Stripes Park, set to open this summer, along with new nature trails and Tradition Regional Park.
