The Weyburn Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association welcomes book lovers to their centre at 404 Ashford Street this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for their fall book sale.
“We have got, I want to say, 14 tables of books set up. There has got to be something for everyone. There is a table of cookbooks, there’s a table of autobiographies, there’s nonfiction, fiction, there’s about five or six tables of kids’ books. So we honestly have something for everybody. I hope you can come down,” invited Program Director Tasha Collins.
She said all of the books are donated by Blue Earth Environmental. The CMHA Vocational crew transported the books to the centre and helped set up the tables in preparation for the sale.
“We’ve been doing book sales with Rose at Blue Earth, and since 2015, it’s generated over $7,200 for our branch.”
All of the funds raised through the book sales come right back to their branch and go toward local programming.Â
“We’re really lucky for that partnership and we’re really excited about the indoor sale,” expressed Collins, who noted their staff and volunteer board members will be on site to help out with the sale.Â
“We’re just looking forward to having the community come to see us and see the centre.”Â
She added they will have tickets on sale for the Communithon 50/50 raffle, which has a potential jackpot of $2,500. Tickets are $10 each, with the draw being made on September 15th.Â
