Brendan O’Sullivan provides his prediction and best bet for Monday’s New York Liberty. vs. Connecticut Sun matchup.

The Sun and Liberty are in vastly different scenarios heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Connecticut is one of the worst teams in the league, while New York is fighting for playoff seeding.

The Liberty are 12-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 164.5 points.

Here’s my prediction and pick for Monday’s Liberty vs. Sun matchup.

Liberty vs. Sun prediction

This game means a lot more to the Liberty, who are trying to earn home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. The team started the season incredibly hot, but it’s cooled off since.

Nonetheless, New York is a playoff team with championship aspirations. It won last year and will look to defend its title. This is expected to be an easy game, with the spread set at 12 points.

The one concern is the injury report. Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Natasha Cloud are all game-time decisions, and Nyara Sabally and Isabelle Harrison are ruled out for the Liberty. The Sun have a couple injuries, too, with Rayah Marshall out and Leila Lacan as a game-time decision.

The injuries are far more critical for the Liberty as Stewart and Ionescu are two of the best players in the WNBA. Their absence would be major for New York, even against one of the weaker teams. The Liberty lost recent games to the Sky without Stewart and to the Dream without Stewart and Ionescu.

Liberty vs. Sun pick, best bet

Of course, injuries will be a major factor for the outcome of the game. When the best players are sidelined, everything shifts for a team.

The Liberty will still win the game, but I’m not expecting them to cover the 12-point spread. Bet Sun +12 for this game.

Best Bet: Sun +12 (-110)
