Bear makes a splash at Lucky Peak and demonstrates superior swimming skills.

BOISE, Idaho — While most humans struggle to dog paddle across a swimming pool without losing their dignity, a local bear casually demonstrated world-class aquatic skills at Lucky Peak Lake on Saturday, leaving witnesses amazed.

The furry athlete was captured on video by Haley Carter around noon on Saturday, Aug. 23, executing what can only be described as a flawless lake crossing that would make any triathlete weep with envy.

“It was swimming from one side to the other,” Carter said, “It got out of the lake, crossed the road and sprinted up the hill.”

The bear has not yet been reached for comment.

“The bear was just minding its business crossing the lake,” Carter said. “It was just really cool!”

Officials at Lucky Peak Dam noted that while they encourage proper water safety equipment for human visitors, the bear appeared to have its own safety protocols well in hand, or paw, as it were.

Additionally, they reminded visitors that while this particular Yogi demonstrated excellent swimming form, humans should still pack life jackets and whistles when venturing into the water.

Wildlife officials confirmed that bears do, in fact, often swim across bodies of water.Â
