After the big reveal earlier this summer, Twisted Pixel and Oculus Studios announced during Gamescom that Deadpool VR will be launching for the Meta Quest 3 on November 18. Not only that, but the teams released the new story trailer, which expands upon the bizarre narrative from the original announcement back in June.
The story goes that The Merc with a Mouth just signed brand new contract with Mojo, the biggest name in intergalactic streaming. Unfortunately for Deadpool, he didn’t read the fine print. As a result, he’s now off to “recruit” (aka kidnap) some of the toughest villains in the Marvel Universe.
That involves him facing off against Marvel villains such as Mephisto, Lady Deathstrike, Omega Red, and Ultimo, as he tries to fulfill his contract and make some serious cash while trying to stay alive. Players will blend parkour with a freeform combat system to take down foes with style and unlock weapons.
Featuring Neil Patrick Harris as the voice of Deadpool and John Leguizamo as the voice of Mojo, you’ll be getting rich and die trying (again and again) to entertain Mojo’s massive audience. So, try to have fun with it. Throw your sword into a guy’s chest, or throw him off a ledge, or decapitate him and recite the “Alas, poor Yorick” monologue.
