In a clip of the interview, Emma said that while Bruce is “still very mobile,” he’s been struggling with cognitive decline in recent years due to his dementia diagnosis.
“Bruce is in really great health overall. It’s just his brain that is failing him,” Emma said during the interview. “The language is going, and we’ve learned to adapt. And we have a way of communicating with him, which is just a different way.”
Emma went on to share that despite the decline, there are still moments when she sees the Bruce that she once knew, she said in the interview.
“It’s his laugh, right? Like, he has such a hearty laugh. And, you know, sometimes you’ll see that twinkle in his eye, or that smirk, and, you know, I just get transported,” Emma shared during the interview. “And it’s just hard to see, because as quickly as those moments appear, then it goes.”
Emma continued and said, “It’s hard, but I’m grateful. I’m grateful that my husband is still very much here.”
Bruce‘s daughter recently shared a heartfelt message for him.
