A water main break led to a two-hour delay for the Chartiers Valley School District on Thursday morning.The break happened a little before 3:30 a.m. on the 5300 block of Thoms Run Road, shutting down part of the road.Pictures published on social media by the Preston Volunteer Fire Department showed water shooting into the air.Chartiers Valley superintendent Dan Castagna wrote in part in a message to families, “The water line ruptured again early this morning. Therefore, all Chartiers Valley schools will operate on a 2-hour delay today, Thursday, August 28. Parkway students will report to the same bus stop and follow the same schedule as yesterday. Please remember that we will remain on a 2-hour delay schedule for the entire school day.”On Wednesday, the district had been on remote learning due to an earlier water main break.
