SALT LAKE CITY – A man was flown to a hospital in critical condition after police said he was shot in the head in Weber County Sunday. A 5-year-old and another man also had gunshot wounds.

At approximately 1 a.m. Sunday, police responded to an area near 9300 W 900 S, in a remote area of Weber County, after receiving word a man had been shot, according to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office in a release.

The sheriff’s office said as deputies were heading to the scene, dispatch received multiple calls stating there may be multiple victims.

“When deputies arrived, they found a large gathering and multiple vehicles leaving the area,” the sheriff’s office said.

A man in his 20s was reportedly found in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his head. Police said he was flown to a hospital by a medical helicopter.

Deputies reported a five-year-old girl was found with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound near her leg and hip. She was reportedly taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Another man, whose age was not disclosed, had a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder and was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

“Our detectives are currently speaking to all the witnesses who were in the area and are working to identify a suspect,” the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said.
