NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. —

Six people were taken to a local hospital after a crash on Interstate 95 southbound in North Hampton Sunday, officials said.

Authorities said North Hampton Fire & Rescue responded just after 5 p.m. to reports that a northbound vehicle crossed the median and struck a southbound pickup truck.

Two people had to be extricated from their vehicles before being transported to the hospital.

New Hampshire State Police said the southbound side of the highway was closed at mile marker 7.6, just before Exit 2 and the Hampton Tolls, while crews worked to clear the scene.

The left lane reopened around 6 p.m., but the right lane remains closed as of 8 p.m.
