It’s been a long summer of activity in the transfer market, and now we come into the final hours.

The window remains open for Premier League clubs to sign players until 7pm BST (2pm ET) today, and many clubs and players are still looking to finalise deals. Here, The Athletic rounds up where we are with various moves.

You can follow live coverage of all the ins and outs across deadline day here, with breaking news and analysis from our team of reporters across Europe and the U.S.

The big story of the summer has been the future of Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak.

And late on Sunday, The Athletic reported that Liverpool have reached an agreement to sign the Swedish striker. The deal is worth £130million ($176m) to Newcastle due to solidarity payments and will cost Liverpool £125m.

Isak has not played for Newcastle this season, while Liverpool had a bid for the Sweden striker rejected at the start of August. But the forward now looks finally set for a move to Anfield.

That move being completed would leave Newcastle a striker short, even after the purchase of Nick Woltemade, 23, from Stuttgart last week.

Newcastle have had two offers for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa turned down, including one last month worth £35million plus £5m. On Saturday, the forward said Brentford are “unduly standing in (his) way” as he pursues an exit. He has not played for the London club this season.

Jorgen Strand Larsen told Wolverhampton Wanderers he wanted to leave the club, but the Midlands side have been insistent they will not sell the forward.

Liverpool are also looking to add defensive reinforcements, having made an offer worth £35million for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, who scored for Palace in their 3-0 win against Aston Villa last night. Chelsea may have brought in several new forwards already, but the injury to Liam Delap has changed their plans.

Nicolas Jackson could have been moving to Bayern Munich, but Delap’s injury led Chelsea to request the proposed loan move become permanent — so they could generate funds to find an alternative forward — and they began looking at options.

As for Bayern, they have subsequently made an approach for Ademola Lookman from Atalanta.

Chelsea have also agreed a deal to loan Facundo Buonanotte from Brighton after his proposed move to Leeds United fell through. There has also been a bid for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez, while there are talks with Sunderland over recalling Marc Guiu from his loan.

In Villa’s loss to Palace at Villa Park on Sunday night, they were without goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez. The Argentinian has emerged as a target for Manchester United. In the other direction, in a separate deal, Villa are working on bringing Jadon Sancho to Villa Park.

Villa are also in the process of completing a deal for former United centre-back Victor Lindelof.

There is no guarantee United will sign a new goalkeeper today, but as well as Martinez, the club have been in discussions with Royal Antwerp over Senne Lammens. Villa are also interested in the 23-year-old Belgian.

United have agreed a deal with Napoli for Rasmus Hojlund on a season loan, which includes a conditional obligation to buy at €44million (about £38m). The 22-year-old travelled to Italy for a medical over the weekend.

Antony could be leaving Old Trafford with a fee agreed in principle with Real Betis, with whom he was on loan season. However, there is tension over how the Brazilian’s proposed salary reduction would be sorted.

Tyrell Malacia could be moving to Spain with Elche and United in talks over a deal, with a loan looking most likely.

Arsenal, who lost to Liverpool on Sunday, have strengthened in most areas this summer, and Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie should be added to Mikel Arteta’s squad. The 23-year-old was travelling for a medical on Sunday as the two clubs look to finalise a switch.

Heading for the Emirates exit, though, is defender Jakub Kiwior, who has agreed terms with Porto. A transfer worth a guaranteed €25million, rising to a potential €27m (about £23m) has been agreed, but the deal is subject to Hincapie going ahead.

Oleksandr Zinchenko remains available for transfer, although Marseille’s purchase of Emerson Palmieri from West Ham appears to have ended their interest in the Ukraine international. Arsenal are also hoping to secure the sales of Albert Sambi Lokonga, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson, who have several suitors in Europe.

While Liverpool supporters will be hoping a deal for Isak can be completed on deadline day, the future of midfielder Harvey Elliott could still change.

RB Leipzig, who sold Xavi Simons to Tottenham Hotspur last week for a deal worth €60million (about £52m), registered an interest in the England Under-21 midfielder. The German club and Liverpool, however, are currently apart in their valuations of Elliott.

Elsewhere, at Brighton, Julio Enciso is set to join Strasbourg, while Tariq Lamptey is finalising a transfer to Fiorentina and Jeremy Sarmiento is being loaned to Cremonese.

Nottingham Forest were in the process of signing Botafogo full-back Cuiabano yesterday. It was thought the Brazilian would join earlier this summer, and he is now expected to move to the City Ground to add competition at left-back.

Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin, 22, is set to join Fulham and Chelsea’s Tyrique George, 19, has interest from clubs for a permanent and loan deal.
