Ring ring, it’s Daddy Cohen on the phone, and he has some notes. The Las Culturistas Culture Awards are heading to the big screen (Bravo) for their annual awards show. Hosts Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang will give out awards like Artist of the Millennium (nominees include Miss Piggy and Mulan) and the Reneé Rapp Award for Power in Lesbianism (nominees include “Probably your grandma even though she was married to your grandpa for 50 years” and “carabiner”) to a live audience in Los Angeles on July 17 before its air date on August 5 on Bravo and next-day on Peacock. Rogers and Yang are the hosts, the creators, and the voting body for the esteemed “awards show,” which will certainly be added to the EGOT soon enough. Yang is even more excited about the show than he is for his Emmy nomination.

“I’m honored to be the most-nominated Asian Male Performer with my fourth Emmy nomination this morning. I hope to also break the record for most-nominated straight male performer soon,” he said on July 15, following the Emmys announcement. “But me and Matt revealing our key art is easily the biggest awards-related announcement of the day.” Rogers added, “While Hollywood scrambles with same-day flower delivery, the culture (and therefore the WORLD) will know to tune into the Culture Awards on August 5.”

Still, as seen in a new promotional video, when you’re on Bravo, Andy Cohen has the ultimate say. In the video, Rogers and Yang crow about their power over the upcoming show (“The Academy? Us! The hosts? Us!”) before Cohen calls and gives them his ideas. “Artist of the Millennium? That award can go to Countess LuAnn, for sure,” Yang says into his phone. Then Rogers starts in, blubbering, “And Mr. Cohen, we just wanted to say thank you for this opportuni—” before realizing that “he said ‘mazel’ and hung up.” Well, boys, if you want to impress Cohen, maybe start by adding a category about weed and a category about John Mayer.
