Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business has launched an MBA concentration in artificial intelligence, positioning graduates to lead AI initiatives as workplace adoption of the technology accelerates.
The new AI concentration responds to surging demand for business leaders who understand both artificial intelligence technology and its strategic applications, the school said. Recent Gallup data shows the percentage of U.S. employees using AI in their roles has nearly doubled in two years, jumping from 21% to 40%.
“An MBA in AI bridges the gap between technical AI knowledge and business acumen,” said Mousumi Bose-Godbole, associate professor of marketing and director of the MBA program. “It helps data analytics to support strategic decision-making.”
The program prepares students for management positions overseeing AI projects while emphasizing ethical leadership in the evolving technological landscape, the school said. Students learn AI fundamentals alongside business strategy, creating what Bose-Godbole describes as a foundation for both technical understanding and real-world problem-solving.
Earlier this year, Fairfield University, which serves more than 6,000 undergraduate and graduate students, launched a new Artificial Intelligence and Technology Institute.
