Kelly Ripa isn’t shy about dishing on her and Mark Consuelos‘ spicy love life, but there’s one thing she just isn’t interested in – morning sex!

On the Tuesday, July 15, installment of Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Ripa, 54, admitted that she found intimacy first thing in the morning to be “disgusting” as she lamented that her husband “only” wants to do it at that time.

“He’ll never learn. He’s a guy,” she teased.

Consuelos, 54, also isn’t bothered by kissing her with morning breath – another thing that Ripa isn’t the biggest fan of.

“I have a retainer in. I gotta rip that out. And he’s got his nasal strips on,” she explained. “It’s like we are the most repulsive, disgusting [people].”

The mother of three quipped that just talking about it made her “pre-disgusted for tomorrow morning.”

Noting the difference in their preferences, the Live With Kelly and Mark cohost shared that she’d previously approached her husband about finding more of a balance between their individual needs.

“I said to him, ‘Here’s the thing. There needs to be a yin and a yang here. It can’t always be your way. ‘Cause it feels like 90 percent of the time it’s your way. And now that we work together every day, it’s gonna have to sometimes be my way, and my way’s at night only,’” she recalled to Hirsch.

Despite her jokes about their opposite desires when it comes to their love life, Ripa clarified that they still try to prioritize that part of their nearly 30-year marriage.

“It’s like exercise. The more you do it, the more you do it,” she added. “You just have to do it, and then you’re like, ‘Oh! I remember why I like this.’”

This is far from the first time that Ripa has gotten candid about her sex life with the All My Children alum. During a September 2022 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Ripa confessed they’d done the deed in a public bathroom, on a television show set, and most surprisingly, at the Bravo exec’s home in Fire Island, New York.

“It was a rental house,” she said at the time. “I figured I wasn’t desecrating anything.”

Two years prior, she reflected on their sex life in a separate SiriusXM interview with Cohen, noting that she and Consuelos “found each other at the right time” in their lives.

“We were really pliable to each other. We really learned each other well,” she said at the time. “With that comes a certain level of comfort and confidence and experimentation and just fun.”
