Chris Eubanks shed some light on the relationships between America’s female tennis players.

The state of women’s tennis in America is a healthy one, with four of their players ranked inside the top 10, in addition to Emma Navarro ranking just outside this group at number 11.

All the players keep pushing each other to raise their levels and achieve success in the game.

Amanda Anisimova became the latest American woman to reach a Grand Slam final and America’s women will have some strong results over the North American hard court swing.

Christopher Eubanks made an appearance on Andy Roddick’s ‘Served’ podcast where he discussed America’s female tennis players.

The 29-year-old expressed he is close with Sloane Stephens, Madison Keys and Coco Gauff, each of whom are Grand Slam champions.

Eubanks expressed how happy Keys and Gauff’s compatriots were when they won the 2025 Australian Open and French Open respectively, illustrating the camaraderie they have with one another.

“In terms of the American women that I see from the outside, being friends with Coco, Madi and Sloane, we are all kind of close knit. They all really do support each other. They all are pretty close,” Eubanks said.

“I know everyone was so happy that Madi won Aussie this year. They were so happy for her. All the American women I know were so happy for Madi. When Coco won Roland Garros it was the same thing.

“Like from Jess, to Emma, to Amanda, you saw Coco sending messages over social media. They all genuinely seem like they want to see each other do well.

“I think that is great. It creates a healthy, competitive environment for everyone involved and that is just the one thing that I see. Also it gets contagious. You start to see someone you know have a breakthrough and you want to have that next big breakthrough.

“You want to keep going and keep pushing each other, so it seems to be just a very camaraderie filled relationship between both men and women on the American side.”

It is well documented that Eubanks has a good friendship with two-time Grand Slam champion Gauff.

He has followed her progress and he announced the 21-year-old as the flagbearer at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

During his time on ‘Served’ Eubanks shared that he watched the Wimbledon final with Gauff and told her that she hits her backhand like world number one Jannik Sinner.

“She [Gauff] does a really good job when it’s over looking at what to do better and just move on. It’s not weird for her to watch tennis,” he added.

“We went to go get lunch with her and my girlfriend, we got back and they were still in the second and she was like ‘oh they’re still playing’. We did not process what time it was. She was just like let’s turn the match on.

“We watched it and she just loves watching tennis, she loves sport in general. She was very into the match and talking about tennis. We got real tennis nerdy about certain things, and certain positions.

“I told her I feel like you hit your backhand similar to Sinner, whereas if you look at Carlos he has a little bit of a rock to it, he can absorb pace and block.

“Whereas Sinner can create pace, he can generate pace and the racket head is a little bit high above the wrist and the hand was super fast. We were talking about tennis and tactics and she loves it.”
