A second-hand sale in Metairie will invite residents to spruce up their puzzle collections while supporting their local library.
Friends of the Jefferson Public Library will offer all things perfect for a rainy day at a warehouse sale on Aug. 9: jigsaw puzzles, school supplies, books, DVDs and CDs.
All items were donated by people across the parish, and profits go to the Jefferson Parish Library.
Categories selling for $5 a box include CDs, children’s books, cookbooks and fiction.
DVDs will sell for $10 per box. Pre-packaged Zip-Loc bags of school supplies will be sold for $3-5, and individual puzzles are priced between $2-6.
The event is held in conjunction with the East Bank Regional Library’s Puzzle Extravaganza from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., said Peg Phelps, the publicity chair.
The free event features a used puzzle swap and a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle contest for adults.
The sale is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or while supplies last, at the East Bank Regional Library, 4747 W. Napoleon Ave. in Metairie.
It’s a good idea to arrive early, since June’s warehouse sale sold out of books in the first hour, Phelps said.
Admission and parking are free. Checks won’t be accepted, so be sure to bring cash, cards or your phone for mobile payments
